Downtown West Bend Association offers a variety of opportunities to become involved. We welcome your community participation.


Administrative Assistance
(during regular business hours)

If paperclips and pencils are your passion, we have a niche for you. The Executive Director and Program coordinator always need office help with routine tasks as well as project specific duties and mailings. For more information, please contact Josie Minskey, Executive Director.


Design Committees
2009 Committee Chairs - John Capelle and Mary Jones

Meetings are the 3rd Tuesday and Wednesday of the month at 7:30am.

The Urban Design Committee insures a consistent, historic look to Downtown. Core projects include a multi-phase Street Scape plan, sign grants and façade improvements. The Beautification Committee directs projects related to landscaping, seasonal enhancements and flower baskets. Notable design projects include the Award Winning Riverside Brewery and the removal of the south mound at Main and Walnut.

Economic Restructuring Committee
2009 Committee Chair - Jon Kieckhafer

Meetings held the 2nd Thursday of the month at 7:30am

Economic Restructuring works to maintain an up-to-date market analysis, building inventory and business list.  This group works to recruit and retain businesses downtown by providing financial assistance and small business counseling.  Notable projects include the low interest and revolving loan funds as well as the creation of the Façade Grant program in conjunction with Downtown EDC and the Design Committee.

Promotions Committee
Committee Chair - Julie Sears

Meetings held the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 8am.

Easily the most recognizable of the committees, Promotions directs retail promotions to encourage shopping opportunities and special events to showcase the downtown experience.  Main areas of focus include Music on Main, Farmers’ Market, and Winter on Main.  Recipient of 2003 Main Street Award for Best Special Event- Hog Wild on Main.

Organization Committee
Committee Chair - Ron Brabender

Meetings held the 4th Wednesday of the month at 7:30am

The backbone of the four point approach.  Fundraising for special projects and the development of a strong volunteer network are the primary goals.  The parking plan developed by the Organization committee was a Main Street Award Winner and is the benchmark for other Wisconsin Main Street Communities.

Event Volunteers Wanted

Dates vary by event

Love to be where the action is but don’t have time for a monthly commitment?  Volunteer at one of our events (all your friends will be there anyway!)  Grounds crew, crowd control and licensed bartenders are always needed.  Background checks conducted as necessary.
